Days 1, 2 & 3 – Livingstone, Zambia

Your flight carries you into Livingstone for your first views of wild Africa. Your driver will be waiting to bring you to the banks of the Upper Zambezi to check into your hotel, The Royal Livingstone.

Victoria Falls is a site that no visitor to Southern Africa should miss. Local tribe's people describe it as ‘mosi o tunya’ or the smoke that thunders. The Royal Livingstone Hotel stretches luxuriously along the banks of the Zambezi River. The Hotel consists of a series of 17 colonial-style buildings, with deep verandas, set amidst indigenous trees and plants. A classic swimming pool visually links the waters of the river with the terraces of the hotel, with a sweeping timber deck planted in the swirling water of the Zambezi.

You have three days at leisure for many optional activities including soaring above the falls in a microlite aircraft, rafting the mighty Zambezi River or golfing where baboons and warthogs have free run of the fairways. You can choose to take a sunset cruise before dinner one night on the upper Zambezi River.

Days 4 & 5 - Chobe National Park, Botswana

Crossing into Botswana (2-hour drive), you stay at the Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane. Your rustic chalet is beautifully sited on the banks of The Chobe River. There are vervit monkeys, troops of banded mongoose and resident wart hogs in the lawns surrounding your chalet.

You are in elephant country. The Chobe Elephant population, estimated in excess of 35,000, is the largest single concentration in Africa. You are sure to see families of elephant playing in the river and incredible birds on a sunset boat cruise. The dusty horizon unfolds into impressive red sunsets with strolling silhouettes of giraffe and herds of buffalo in the thousands.

Days 6 & 7– Linyanti Wetlands, Botswana

From Kasane, you catch a quick charter flight to your next camp. Lebala Camp is situated north of the Okavango Delta and fronts onto the Linyanti Wetlands. You have two full and unforgettable days of excitement at Lebala. The wetlands and flood plains offer a wonderful variety of wildlife with excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, lechwe, zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the ever present predators; wild dog, lion, cheetah and hyena.

On game drives, your tracker perches on a seat elevated at the hood of the vehicle, giving him the advantage to stay on the trail of an animal for miles. His picking up the occasional hint of an almost invisible paw prints in the sand is sure to impress you and get you up close and personal with the wildlife you traveled across the world to experience. After dark, spotlights are switched on and the game drives expose you to nocturnal sightings of rare and elusive species such as, leopard, Selous Mongoose, small spotted genet, and aardwolf, to name a few.

The eight spacious tents are unique and were designed specifically for this camp. Each one is built on a raised teak deck, laid out with maximum comfort and privacy in mind.

Days 8 & 9 – Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

You board a 5-seater Cessna for a 30-minute game-viewing flight that exposes the maze of waterways that make up the largest wetland delta in the world. As you swoop above tree level, you are sure to see not-so-tall giraffe and large herds of elephant.

Abounding wildlife and the 5-star service of the Khwai River Lodge make this a favorite stop for everyone. You enjoy two days exploring the grounds around this enchanting camp. Khwai is one of the oldest and most prestigious camps in Botswana. It has been hosting famous visitors since the 60’s.

You will relax by the pool, sipping champagne or iced tea watching the elephants play in the Khwai River. Elephant, hippos, baboon and everyone else walk right through camp at their leisure. You will struggle to leave camp and then be overwhelmed by the wildlife you experience once you pull out each morning and afternoon. You will see all the plains game; zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, the rare Red Lechwe, and hopefully the predators who are never too far off including lion, leopard, hyena, wild dogs and cheetah.

Days 10 & 11 – Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Xigera (pronounced Keejera) is one of the Okavango and Botswana's best kept secrets. Built in one of the most beautiful corners of the Okavango, Xigera Camp is situated on "Paradise Island" within the Moremi Game Reserve. Xigera is in an area which has permanent water all year round, which makes it the perfect water and land activity camp. It is one of the only Okavango camps to offer mokoros and boating trips, foot safaris and game drives in total privacy, with the main emphasis being on water activities.

Xigera was rated as one of the top destinations of the 'Ultimate Safari' in the March 1999 issue of Conde Nast Traveler. Built within a shady grove, Xigera consists of 8 luxuriously furnished walk-in tented rooms, with en-suite facilities and outdoor shower. The quiet waterways offer perfect mokoro opportunities ~ some lucky guests have even seen Leopard from their mokoros. Game drives give guests a different perspective of the area. Boating takes one further a field, and the walks offer the opportunity to get close to wild Africa. Night drives are also available.
