Authentic Tanzania Northern Circuit Camping Safari$0 per person, 9 Days Day 1 Arusha, TanzaniaOn this style of trip you are not expected to participate in any of the camp preparations or chores. The camp crew will take care of all aspects of camp life behind the scenes, allowing you to have a real holiday in some of the most beautiful game areas in Africa. You arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa. On arrival, you connect onto your scheduled flight To Arusha, Tanzania. When you land, meet your driver in arrival and transfer to the Arusha Hotel for the night. The renowned Arusha Hotel is a top notch overnight option in Arusha. The Hotel recently opened the only heated pool in town and also a new poolside massage room for a relaxing after safari treatment. The Arusha Hotel — Includes: Bed & Breakfast Day 2 Tarangire National Park, TanzaniaYour guide will come to greet you and conduct a pre-departure briefing this morning after an early breakfast. He will assist you should you wish to exchange money or purchase extra beverages or snacks. The drive to Tarangire is just over two hours and so you will either be able to enjoy lunch at the campsite or a picnic lunch en-route so that you will be able to spend the rest of the day game viewing. Your safari support vehicle will drive ahead to erect camp before your arrival. The camp is private and yours alone. Accommodations are in 3.4m x 3.4m dome tents, which are extremely spacious and we provide camp beds, foam mattresses and warm bedding which consists of a sleeping bag, cotton inner sheet and a small pillow. Sumptuous meals are prepared by the friendly safari chef and are either served in the mess tent or directly under the stars if you prefer. Outside your tent and at the meal table you will have the use of large, comfortable, foldaway chairs and washstands and a large towel are provided for each client. A separate bush shower and bush toilet are provided. Prviate Tarangire Campsite — Includes: all meals Days 3 & 4 Ngorongoro Crater, TanzaniaYou have an early start this morning in order to allow the support crew to start breaking down camp while you enjoy breakfast. As the camp crew gets on their way to set up camp at our next location, you will be able to take your picnic boxes and enjoy a morning game drive inside the park before making driving through the bustling towns of Mto-wa-Mbu, where there is a lively curio market, and Karatu. You then weave your way upwards into the densely forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing to admire the splendid view of the crater floor 600m below at Heroes Point, before driving on to your campsite located close to the rim of the Ngorongoro caldera. You arrive late afternoon at your private campsite. If you arrive in good time, you may like to consider an optional extra of an early evening/sunset visit to a Maasai village boma where you can spend some time learning about the culture, traditions and beliefs of this ancient, noble warrior tribe. This is at an additional cost, and should be discussed with your guide, and paid directly to your guide. Your camp will be erected prior to your arrival. This private campsite includes generous dome tent accommodations with camps beds. Sleeping bag, linens, and a small pillow make it very comfortable. Each guest is also provided a wash basin, large towel, and comfortable camp chairs. Ablution facilities include a bush toilet and bush shower. Fresh and tasty meals are prepared by the safari chef. The next morning you will descend the steep walls of the crater to admire the microcosm of life within it. You will have a picnic lunch on the floor of the crater at a pleasant lakeside location where you can stretch your legs and soak up the magnificent scenery. The crater rim can be very cold at night and cloaked in mist in the early mornings. It can also be quite bleak and windy (July and August). You will need a warm sweater or fleece, several layers or a warm jacket here. You return to your campsite for overnight. Private Ngorongoro Campsite — Includes: All meals Days 5 — 7 Serengeti National Park, TanzaniaToday you break camp and embark on a game drive into the great Serengeti plains. Before crossing from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area into the Serengeti National Park you may wish to visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum where you can attend a short talk on the archaeological importance of Olduvai and the work of Mary and Louis Leakey in excavating the area and discovering some of Africa's most important hominid fossils. You arrive at camp in the afternoon. Your camp will be erected prior to your arrival. This private campsite includes generous dome tent accommodations with camps beds. Sleeping bag, linens, and a small pillow make it very comfortable. Each guest is also provided a wash basin, large towel, and comfortable camp chairs. Ablution facilities include a bush toilet and bush shower. Fresh and tasty meals are prepared by the safari chef. The next couple of days are spent exploring Serengeti National Park via morning and afternoon game drives. You return to your camp each day for overnight. Private Serengeti Campsite — Includes: All meals Day 8 Arusha, TanzaniaToday you break camp and begin your journey back to Arusha via scenic game drive. This takes approximately 4 hour and you will have a picnic lunch en-route. There may be a little time to shop for curios along the way or just outside the town centre before you arrive in town. Your guide will transfer to the Arusha Hotel for the night. The renowned Arusha Hotel is a top notch overnight option in Arusha.
