East AfricaKenya | Tanzania | Uganda/Rwanda | Ethiopia Kenya is the quintessential land of the safari. One of Kenya's greatest attractions is the annual wildebeest migration between Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Amboseli National Park enjoys excellent populations of elephant and views of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance. Samburu and Meru are in the Northern highlands where you can see the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and beisa oryx. In Tanzania the complete African safari experience is truly represented in game reserves and national parks such as the Serengeti, the annual setting of the wondrous wildebeest migration; Ngorongoro Crater, the unique, bio-diverse amphitheater; Selous Game Reserve, the vast and least well known park, and the amazing array of birdlife at Lake Manyara. This giant country has wonderful hidden gems from hiking to see chimps in the Mahale Mountains to the remote and game filled Katavi National Park to trekking to the snow capped roof of Africa on Mt. Kilimanjaro. There is a lot to explore. Uganda and Rwanda are incredibly lush, friendly countries located in the mountainous central highlands. The primeval forest of the Virunga Volcanoes is home to the last mountain gorilla populations of the world. These special animals are rare and gentle, and spending an hour with them has been revered as a mystical experience. Another highlight is a visit to Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria where guests can take a forest walk with chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Sanctuary. People emerge from the forest with twigs in their hair, ear-to-ear grins and life changing interactions with our closest animal relatives. Kenya | Tanzania | Uganda/Rwanda | Ethiopia |
