Arumeru River Lodge

Just completed in 2004 and run by a crazy German guy, this lodge gets a thumbs up for budget. The sets of cottages are new but simple. When we visited, there were plans to build a large Biergarten!  — Mango's view

This attractive new lodge is spread over 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and natural African bush land, bordering on a river lined with precious large old trees.

The main building with the resort facilities has an extremely comfortable lounge and bar area, as well as a reception area, with telephone/fax, internet, a boutique, and the restaurant and cloak rooms. A terrace restaurant with spectacular views of the mountains Meru and Kilimanjaro overlooks the tropical gardens and a large solar-heated swimming pool.

There are 20 comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms and verandahs in 10 chalets, all on the ground floor. The rooms are designed and decorated in harmony with the main building where the accent is on traditional eco-friendly African architecture.

This exclusive resort with its particular African charm opened in 2004. It is their aim to offer guests comfortable luxurious accommodation, personalized service, great attention to detail, excellent international and local African cuisine and an inviting homely atmosphere.
