Buhoma Homestead

This is one of the few lodging options in Bwindi. Accommodation is very simple, but it is located inside the park.  — Mango's view

The Buhoma Homestead enjoys uninterrupted views of gallery forest uniquely from within the forest. All the accommodation is positioned enjoying the vantage afforded by steep hilly slopes that is synonymous with Bwindi. A warm welcome awaits you at the Homestead by our friendly staff that will attend to your needs and requirements.

The homestead may be "in the jungle," however there is no need to forego everyday comforts like flushing toilets or hot and cold showers. A solar lighting system has also been installed emphasizing the location of the homestead in pitch-dark thick forest.

Each morning, guests with trekking permits depart in two groups of six, accompanied by two guides and four guards and head out in search of the mountain gorillas. These special animals are rare and gentle, like us yet so different. This can be humbling and thrilling at the same time. Gorilla tracking is an intense experience that can take all day. The guide will lead you through the gorilla's world, explaining aspects of their ecology and behavior along the way. Only 600 of these magnificent animals remain worldwide, and Bwindi is home to just over half of them. The variety and abundance of birds and butterflies only adds to the magic of this mystical forest.

Includes: All meals (gorilla trekking permits are extra)
