Chapungu is the Shona word for the bateleur eagle found nearby. It is of French origin meaning tight rope walker. This is seen in the bateleleur's flight pattern, whereby the wings are constantly tilting as if balanced on a high wire.
Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp is tastefully furnished in old world colonial splendor in a style and class of a bygone era. With only 8 luxury ensuite tents, all with overhead fans and air conditioning, guests are ensured an exclusive experience. Washed with the warmth and color of the afternoon sun and in true African style, luxury tents overlook the magnificent bushveld. It is here that guests wile away moments relaxing and reflecting on the tranquility and intimacy afforded by this small camp.
