Hilton Maldives Resort and Spa

The Hilton consistently gets rave reviews from all types of people. They finished refurbishing all the water villas in 2006 bringing the resort into a stellar state. If you are looking at beach villas, it is definitely worth the upgrade to the deluxe beach villa with private plunge pool.

The dining options are fabulous, expensive and some must be pre-booked. We highly recommend booking on a B&B basis for the quality and diversity. The only potential drawback to honeymooners is that the Hilton really can satisfy everyone so there are a number of families who vacation here.

The resort is large enough (150 rooms) to have atmosphere in some of the common areas which can be a hard thing to find in the Maldives. Those looking for a deserted island and totally private feel might want to look elsewhere.  — Mango's view

Guests are seated around the grill where a chef prepares Japanese-European fusion style Teppanyaki exactly to their liking. The ever-popular Wine Cellar Restaurant, which seats up to 12 guests around its oak table, is an intimate restaurant where guests enjoy the finest hand-picked wines in the world combined with the finest cuisine. Weekly five-course dégustation dinners are held here, where the chef and the resort's sommelier devise a gourmet repast for the delectation of the diners. Then there is the Sunset Grill, located 50 m from the shore on stilts over a reef where fish and coral can be clearly seen. Enjoy the ambience in this a la carte restaurant with grilled seafood specialties, matched by some of the most sought-after wines from boutique wineries from around the world. And finally the Vilu Restaurant is the ultimate culinary experience at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. It offers guests a delectable fusion of Euro-Asian cuisine in a wondrous setting on the edge of the azure lagoon, and matches this with the finest wines from the New and Old Worlds. In addition to an extensive buffet breakfast and lazy Sunday brunch, Vilu offers a gourmet choice of a la carte dining at lunchtime and in the evenings, with menus that change daily. One more to mention is Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, the only undersea aquarium style restaurant in the world.

When you are ready for some fun, the resort offers a tennis court, fitness room, pool table, ping pong table, and a jogging track. If you are interested in some water sports you can scuba dive, wind surf, jet ski, water ski, go fishing, or just relax on the exquisite beach.

The resort is renowned for its attentive service and fine cuisine, along with the abundance of leisure facilities. Beaches of soft white sand fringed by palms lead to the Indian Ocean.
