Kendwa Rocks

This is one of our 'go to' budget options near the northern area of Nungwi on Zanzibar. The great swimming beach usually has sand volleyball for guests and reggae pumping out of the beach front restaurant.

Be prepared to meet lots of backpackers and partying college students.  — Mango's view

At Kendwa Rocks, you will have the opportunity to go fishing, surf, scuba, snorkel and beachcomb. This area boasts the softest beaches on the island and has incredible coral reefs. This is close to the area where you can view Dhow building, the traditional boat of Zanzibar. The beach at Kendwa is excellent for swimming during all tides and there are no rocks or seaweed.

The variety of sea life on the nearby coral reefs is immense, with regular sightings of dolphins, manta rays, turtles and reef sharks. On several occasions, large numbers of rare whale sharks have been sighted.

Each bungalow has large Zanzibari antique beds, ensuite bathrooms and verandahs to the open sea view. The bungalows are beautiful and cozy; bandas offer you a feel of originality. All needs and budgets are taken into consideration. The staff is friendly and will help you make your stay enjoyable. The restaurant and bar area also provide spectacular views.
