Kuramathi Blue Lagoon
Blue Lagoon is a peaceful resort on an island with 2 other resorts. It is a clean and well run 3-star resort. There are almost 300 rooms among the 3 resorts, so it is a very touristy and large island by Maldivian standards. However, the resorts coexist nicely by giving guests privacy in their own corner of the island, yet have a wide range of activities and restaurants to choose from. — Mango's view
Kuramathi Blue Lagoon is built on a narrow sandbar running far into the ocean, surrounded by crystal blue water with gentle waves constantly lapping. Blue Lagoon is the epitome of seclusion and tranquility you dream of when you think of Maldives.
Accommodations include 20 water bungalows for relaxing in the lagoon. They are built on stilts to ensure guests exquisite peace and serenity, with only the sound of the surf to keep you company throughout your holiday. These rooms include air conditioning, mini-bar, in room safe, IDD telephone, hair dryer, terrace, and ensuite bathroom with shower.
There are also 36 beach bungalows built in seclusion on the beach front. They are situated at the edge of the lagoon and surrounded by indigenous vegetation that gives guests a scenic uplift, treading the thin line between reality and fantasy, though this eccentric nature trip does not stop you from enjoying all modern amenities. These rooms include air conditioning, mini-bar, in room safe, IDD telephone, hair dryer, terrace, ensuite bathroom with shower, and an outdoor shower.
Since Kuramathi is a big island, it is divided into three hotels where you have the option of eating in different outlets throughout the island. The food production team does their best to ensure that everything is perfect. Guests are welcome to eat at any restaurant or coffee shop. Throughout the month, theme dinners are present at different locations of the island. Kuramathi offers a choice of five restaurants, including Indian, Thai, Grill and a few coffee shops.
Kuramathi Village offers a choice of three restaurants. The Haruge is the main restaurant, where a buffet breakfast is served every morning. Lunch and dinner alternate between buffet and set menu. Three nights a week a special buffet is presented.
The island's sports center comes with a swimming pool, floodlit tennis court, gymnasium, Jacuzzi and sauna. The resort also has a water sports center, which facilitates windsurfing, sailing, catamaran sailing, canoeing, water skiing, and banana riding. Guests can enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving with the island's PADI certified dive center. Land sports offered include table tennis, badminton, volleyball, and football (soccer). Other facilities include a fabulous freshwater swimming pool with pool bar, separate children's pool, and floodlit tennis court.
At the Kuramathi Spa, you can get a wide range of relaxation treatments in both European and Eastern tradition. Separated into open-air sections for women and men, the spa has a sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool, Jacuzzi and showers.
