Mala Mala Sable Camp

Mala Mala's location in the Sabi Sands is likely the most game rich terrain in South Africa. The wildlife viewing is beyond stellar. Since the reserve is over 30 years old, animals have grown up in the presence of vehicles and are utterly at ease in front of them.

The guiding feels a bit military in style and this can detract from the otherwise lush environment.

We have not been to Mala Mala since Sable Camp opened but have had many guests stay there. The reports are great with a nice balance between a bush lodge and modern convenience. The thatched suites have all the comforts and a real African theme.  — Mango's view

Mala Mala Game Reserve is located in the game-rich Sabi Sands Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park and offers exceptional "Big Five" game viewing and photographic safaris. Guests can enjoy sunrise and sunset game drives or bush walks, accompanied by experienced game rangers and trackers, in an area renowned for its exceptional game viewing. Set on the banks of the Sand River and shaded by indigenous trees, Mala Mala Main Camp has received numerous international awards.

Situated at the southern end of the Mala Mala Main Camp in a prime elevated position overlooking the Sand River and surrounding bush, the Sable Camp is an ideal retreat for the more reclusive traveler who prefers privacy and exclusivity.

The Sable Camp accommodates 14 guests in 5 luxury suites and the Lions Den - a 2 bedroom, spacious luxury suite with magnificent views, accommodating up to 4 guests. Guest suites include heated towel bars, insect proof screening on all windows, mini-bar, in room safe, hair dryer, bath robes, private verandahs overlooking the bush, and tea/coffee making facilities.

The fully air conditioned, beautifully appointed Sable Camp has a truly colonial feel enhanced with modern comforts. A library with satellite television and internet connectivity gives one the option to stay in touch with the world while the intimate safari bar, swimming pool and large wooden deck surrounding the camp provide the platform from which to admire the unimpeded views that make the Sable Camp experience so rich and interactive.

A dedicated team of staff are on hand to make sure that every need of our discerning guests is taken care of, while the highly qualified rangers and trackers continue to present close contact viewing in the diverse wilderness that is Mala Mala Game Reserve.

The Sable Camp does not accommodate children under the age of 16, unless the entire camp is reserved exclusively.
