New Emerald Cove

This is a good option on Praslin if you prefer smaller, simpler hotels. While there is only one restaurant, the beach is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The location is ideal for exploring Praslin.  — Mango's view

The New Emerald Cove is located on its own private beach, Anse Le Farine. You will enjoy the seclusion area, and still enjoy all of the activities offered on Praslin Island.

New Emerald Cove has eight chalets with 49 rooms located in the gardens just beyond the beach. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and mini-bars. The resort a good restaurant, a swimming pool and complimentary snorkeling equipment and canoes.

The huge coral reef in front of the hotel is rich in fauna and is exceptional for snorkeling and diving. The hotel organizes dives and offers daily tours by boat to the magnificent neighboring islands (Aride, Courieuse, Marianne, La Digue, Petit Soeure, Grande Soeure, Coco Island, Felicité, Cousin, and Cousine) where you can enjoy barbeques on the beach.

Praslin is a favorite island for Mango, and it is for good reason. Praslin is the second largest island in the Seychelles, nearby to Mahe, and completely drivable in an hour. It is here where you will find the Vallee de Mai, the botanical forest said to be the Eden of Adam and Eve. There are various nature trails in the park, and you will see the distinctive and unusually shaped nuts found in this prehistoric vegetation. You can explore the many white sand beaches and private coves, including the Anse Lazio which has been said to be one of the prettiest in the Seychelles.

Fabulous scuba and snorkeling trips are available around the island. Nearby is the quiet island of La Digue which offers the perfect day trip. A beautiful sail (1 hour) has you at La Digue, where you can explore the island on bicycles. It will be hard to pull yourself from Conde Nast's voted best beach in the world. The nature reserves of Cousin and Curieuse are easily visited on day boat excursions. The only 18-hole golf course in the Seychelles is at Lemuria, and it is every bit as sensational as you could imagine. Holes literally hang off of the mountains, surrounded by the ocean. You are not limited to your hotel's dining room, as there are several fun, local Creole and international style restaurants to discover!
