Nxamaseri Island Lodge

A small and exclusive lodge on an island in the permanent waters of the Okavango Delta. This is a great spot for fishing and water activities. Don't miss an opportunity to explore ancient San painting in the nearby Tsodilo Hills.  — Mango's view

Nxamaseri Island Lodge is a unique African experience on an island in the permanent waters of the Okavango Delta. A small exclusive lodge and one of the oldest of the delta, it has 6 double en-suite chalets, each secluded in an indigenous forest and each with hot and cold running water, mosquito nets, and a private deck overlooking the water. Teak walkways link the rooms to the main areas of the lodge.

The Lodge and the rooms are enhanced with original Botswana artwork and furniture is handcrafted by local artisans. The Lodge is owner-operated with a focus on personal attention to detail, noticeably expressed in the original décor and excellent catering.

Take a boat or mokoro trip in the cool waterways to relax and revitalize your soul. The channels abound with flora and fauna such as hippos, crocodiles, otters, swamp antelope, and hundreds of bird species. Experience the thrill of fishing in the deep waters from boats or along the bank for tiger fish and bream. The Lodge is renowned for spectacular birding and night boat trips. Another rare opportunity is to visit a San sacred site, the beautiful Tsodilo Hills. Guests can also explore the island on foot via guided walking safaris.

At Tsodilo Hills, guests are privileged to see and feel, however briefly, the essence of the San culture. Rising out of the flat desert landscape, the sacred hills are one of Botswana's most valued treasures. From the Lodge you will have the opportunity to explore these hills, absorb the intimate nature of this sacred desert place and view some of the 2,000 ancient San paintings that adorn the hills.
