Offbeat Meru Camp
We have heard great things about this camp and their staff but have yet to visit. Meru is a beautiful park with views of Mt. Kenya.

Offbeat Meru Camp is a 12-bedded luxury semi-permanent camp situated just outside the park in Bisanadi National Reserve, set above the pretty Bisanadi River. Meru National Park offers visitors a chance to visit one of Kenya's most magical parks away from the masses. The park has a wide variety of landscapes and is dominated by savannah, but includes riverine forest and swamps. The park is bisected by 13 rivers which flow toward the Tana River in the south and rise in the Nyambene Hills to the west.
The park has excellent game viewing opportunities which include lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, black and white rhino's, eland, gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Grant's Gazelle, Grevy's Zebra, lesser kudu and reticulated giraffe as well as over 280 species of birds. The camp will be hosted by Piers Winkworth and Adrian Allen.
The camp comprises of 6 large tents, three twins and three doubles, all with en-suite bucket showers, wash basin and flush loos. The spacious tents are furnished with huge beds, solar lighting and the finest linen. There is a large sitting room tent equipped with bar, library, comfy sofas and writing table. There is also a large dining tent capable of sitting up to 16 people. The camp has a lovely swimming pool.
Activities include day and night game drives in fully equipped custom-designed safari vehicles, walking safaris, bush breakfasts, sundowners and camel safaris.
