Selinda Camp
This camp has changed ownership, been refurbished and also stopped all hunting on the concession. We are excited to see this camp blossom in the next few years. — Mango's view
Selinda Camp is situated in the Selinda, a 135,000 hectare reserve that straddles the Selinda Spillway. The camp overlooks this ephemeral waterway which links the Okavango Delta with the game-rich floodplains of the Linyanti Swamps.
The camp's 7 Meru-style tents are under thatch with unique en-suite facilities fashioned into the natural vegetation. Open views of the spillway and floodplains, a cool veranda, hot and cold running water, flush toilet and a shower under the open African sky are all available. The main area is a thatched double-tiered building incorporating dining, lounge and bar facilities.
Guests can also enjoy a small curio shop, plunge pool and traditional campfire. Daily activities include morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced professional guides in custom-built 4 x 4 Land Cruisers. Short walks from camp accompanied by an armed guide are encouraged.
The Selinda is characterized by its game-rich floodplains which are host to a variety of antelope, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion and plenty of
elephant. Game drives are fruitful with a variety of antelope, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and buffalo to be seen. Predator viewing is exceptional including the hippo-killing lions of Selinda, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.
The Selinda Walking Trail, a superb two-day walk between Tswene and Mokoba Trails Camps in the Linyanti Concession, is a wonderful addition to a stay at either Selinda or Zibalianja camps.
