Shompole is located on Lake Magadi on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment overlooking the famous Great Rift Valley. It sits within the 35,000 acre Core Conservancy, surrounded by 140,000 acres of Shompole Group Ranch, which provides a dispersal area for wildlife and a great buffer to human settlement.

Shompole's unique approach to design and stewardship have combined to produce an exclusive safari experience for guests while working with local communities to conserve the environment with an emphasis on sustainable natural resources.

This unique and artistic lodge incorporates natural materials, smooth white walls and water to create a fresh and unusual approach to the bush experience. Each building's design incorporates natural forms while blending into the rugged surrounds.

Accommodations in thatched tented rooms provide a very spacious and shady oasis in this arid environment. Each room includes a private cooling plunge pool, en-suite bathroom with a spectacular view and specifically designed canvas and netting that includes vast windows and a canopied roof.

The main lodge and dining area have high thatched roofs with ridgelines that resemble the looming Mt. Shomople. The lodge has various levels for seating areas and meals. Meals are prepared using the finest fresh ingredients and served in the lodge dining area, in the privacy of your tent, or poolside under the stars if you wish.

Shompole is located in one of the most diverse environments in Kenya. This gives guests a wealth of activities to explore. Guests can choose to take day and night game drives, guided bush walks, picnics in the bush. Wildlife is abundant with sightings of lion, buffalo, leopard, giraffe, and eland, wildebeest, zebra, cheetah, and elephant common.
