MANGO AFRICAN SAFARIS

Sabi Sands Game Reserve, South Africa

Singita Ebony Lodge

Ebony is warm and gorgeous. While we slightly prefer Boulders Lodge, if space is an issue, then you will not be sorry with Ebony even for a minute. It is hard to forget the magic of having all the pieces fit together so elegantly. We enthusiastically recommend this property. Wine lovers are encouraged to take advantage of the wine cellar, so make sure to book a cellar tasting.

If you are considering staying at modern Lebombo, then maybe think about going for Ebony as your second camp in the Sabi Sands.

The only possible downside to this experience for some is that not many young people can afford Singita, so the age of the clientele tends to be on the older side. Book early as space is a challenge. For most, this is not the start to a trip - but a well savored finale.  — Mango's view

Ebony Lodge languishes in a cool silence in the shade of jackalberry trees on the bank of the Sand River, in the heart of the Sabi Sands Reserve. Ebony Lodge is man's love affair with Africa, timeworn colonial furniture and ethnic craft merge with vibrant hand-woven fabrics and relics collected from the land - a tribute to nature's eternal struggle.

The 9 exclusive and exquisitely furnished double suites at Singita Ebony lodge are places of quiet contemplation, where the silence and solitude is measured only by the harmony of the forest and plains beyond. The suites include private open-air showers, double-sided fireplace, private swimming pool, outdoor leisure deck overlooking the river, air conditioning, mini-bar and fridge, and direct dial telephones. Ebony Lodge is the epitome of the luxury safari experience, combining quality and simple refinement to define the wonder of the wild.

Singita Ebony Lodge boasts a lounge and timber deck dining areas, where guests can admire the views of the Sand River. The lodge also has a bar area and open boma, ideal for dinner under the stars. Guests can make use of the gym, health spa, library and swimming pools.

At Ebony Lodge's accommodation in Sabi Sands, fine wine and cuisine is as much a part of the Boulders Lodge guest experience as pristine game viewing and luxurious lodge living. Created to please discerning cosmopolitan palates, gourmet game lodge fare compares with the world's finest cuisine.

Exotic venison such as springbok and ostrich are combined with the freshest African flavors and ingredients to craft simple, delicious food with great culinary flair at your accommodation in Sabi Sands. Guests using Singita's accommodation in Sabi Sands also have the rare opportunity to taste some traditional African culinary treasures.

This is Africa's big game terrain, so your days and early nights on your safari will blissfully revolve around spectacular game viewing drives. Driving in open safari Land Rovers allows for a panoramic vision of the bush. Only 6 people are permitted per vehicle, leaving space for photographic and binocular equipment. Guests can also choose to take a guided bush walk, or a seasonal fishing trip.
