Sossusvlei Lodge

This is a nice lodge located just next to the public campgrounds at Sesreim. While you are close to the entrance of the park, crowds of vehicles dust each other every morning towards the dunes.  — Mango's view

The Sossusvlei Lodge is located in Sesreim, the gateway to the Namib Desert and the Dunes of Sossusvlei. Each of its 45 rooms is Berber-like with their adobe walls and canvas roofs. The rooms include ensuite bathrooms, in-room safes, and verandahs overlooking the hotel grounds.

A chlorinated fresh water swimming pool is available for use by guests 24 hours a day. The bar is open from 8:00am until late for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. A wide variety of mineral waters and cocktails are stocked to quench a 'desert thirst,' as well as an extensive range of Southern Africa's finest wines. Well known Namibian and German beers and schnapps are also stocked. The service area includes the bar itself and area around the adjacent swimming pool.

The Curio or Souvenir shop is located at the base of the observation tower adjacent to Reception and is open daily. Warm beverages and cold water are available at no cost to lodge guests in the Reception area 24 hours a day. A wide range of teas, coffee, freshly brewed filter coffee and sweeteners are to be found here. There is a guest telephone facility in the Reception area, laundry facilities, and a nearby petrol station for those on self-drive tours.

The Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Center provides various planned activities of discovery into the Sossusvlei area while understanding and respecting the needs of guests for an independent and private style of travel. Activities can be arranged in advance or purchased a la carte style when guest arrives. These include Sossusvlei excursions, nature drives, sundowners, hot air balloon flights, eco-quad biking, scenic desert flights, and bush dinners to name a few.

Experience the desert beauty from a bird's eye view in a hot air balloon or by aircraft. Take a guided drive through scenic natural beauty in a custom built and comfortable all terrain vehicle.
