The Elephant House is an exclusive eight bedroom lodge situated near the main entrance to the Addo Elephant National Park in the fertile sun-drenched Sundays River Valley. The Elephant House has been designed as a rambling colonial farmhouse with modern features to ensure the guests' comfort. Each spacious room has full air conditioning, heating, private bathrooms, king size beds, internet access, telephones, hair dryers, safes, bathrobes, and 24-hour room service. The wide verandas (filled with comfortable sofas) forming a series of courtyards are a defining feature, whilst the décor of Elephant House evokes Colonial and African images and is furnished with the owners private collection of antiques, Persian rugs and Africana art. The spacious bedrooms open onto courtyards and private verandas. The grounds feature two swimming pools perfect for refreshing yourself after a hot day. Light lunches or lovely three course dinners can be served on the terraces with a pairing of delicious local wines.
Activities available are game drives in Addo National Park, elephant-back rides, horseback safaris, canoeing on the river, helicopter tours, and a cultural, historical and agricultural tour of the valley. Children are most welcome and excellent babysitters are available on request. The children also have use of the "Club Room" which has a selection of games and a DVD library.
