Located on the Caprivi Strip near Botswana, this bush lodge offers some of the best fishing opportunities in Southern Africa. We typically book this property for avid anglers but it also makes a nice retreat and offers excellent bird watching.

Impalila Island Lodge is a luxury that is a perfect place to stay during even the most discerning traveler's stay in Namibia. The eight rooms feature comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms and ample use of soothing natural wood and neutral tones.

The lodge is on Impalila Island which forms the northeastern tip of Namibia and lies just 70km west of Victoria Falls. The unique island is situated at the meeting place of two mighty African rivers, the Chobe and Zambezi, and four countries - Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. There is much to offer at this strikingly unique location - from the air an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld - on the ground exceptional birdlife, game viewing and assorted vegetation - and in the waters outstanding fishing opportunities. Impalila is also the most secluded and remote of the Chobe destinations but close enough to offer guests the very best of the Chobe River - that is game viewing by boat.

A choice of fishing in the Zambezi, Chobe, Kasai or Kwando rivers as well as the Mambova rapids, and backwaters of the floodplains makes our island fishing opportunities magnificent. Fly fishing or traditional angling from either motorized boat or mokoro for a variety of African species is possible. All guides are professional and very knowledgeable on the area. Other scheduled activities include bird walks, wildlife safari cruises on the Chobe River and cultural village visits.
