Chobe Chilwero is without question one of the nicest properties in Kasane. The downside is paying 5-star prices for a lodge in an area crowded with other tourists.
The game drives are plagued by there being only one entrance for all vehicles to enter and depart Chobe NP, so the crowds are inherent. The boating safari on the Chobe River is worth the trip and a highlight to many Botswana safaris.

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush, with all of the facilities of a larger resort. The main area commands fabulous views over the Chobe River which borders Chobe National Park to the north. As well as the elephants for which the park is famous for. Guests can relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind with a pampering session in the spa or enjoy the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for.
Each of the 15 thatched suites has an en-suite bathroom featuring a large free-standing bath and separate rain shower. After a day of game viewing, what better way to relax than in your own private garden with a cocktail? Or if the fancy takes you, why not have your gourmet dinner served right here under the African sky. Coffee stations and Wi-Fi are available for guest in all rooms. Three of the new suites feature an extra bedroom - perfect for families.
Game activities at Chobe Chilwero are scheduled flexibly, according to the whims of guests and the changing habits of the game. Guided game drives in open vehicles bring you to the heart of Africa's largest concentration of elephants, hippos, buffalos, puku, antelope and lions to name a few - or you can join their acclaimed guides on a wondrous water safari down the river.
