Offbeat Mara is a cute little camp offering good value in an excellent location in the Mara North Conservancy outside of the Masai Mara. You are close enough to take a day trip south to see the migration and river crossing, but also have the luxury of doing some night drives away from the crowds.

One of the smallest camps in the Mara, Offbeat Mara Camp has just six tents and is located on the Olare Orok River in the Mara North Conservancy. This exclusive tented camp offers a truly private safari experience with close access to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp sleeps just 12 guests in six traditional safari tents. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot bucket showers, wash basins and flush toilets. The tents are all furnished with handmade cedar beds, 24 hour solar lighting and the finest linen. Dining is hosted in the mess tent or around the campfire. Guests can relax in the bar and mess tent, furnished with sofas, a writing desk and library with wildlife books.
The area provides some really superb game viewing - lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo are all seen regularly in the nearby valley. Most importantly, the camp is far away from other lodges and camps, meaning there will be no crowds. The annual migration in the Masai Mara is from July to October. An enormous concentration of wildebeest, zebra and consequently predators pass through the surrounding plains. Guests can enjoy full day game drives as well as evening drives. Wildebeest crossing points on the Mara River, Maasai village visits, trips to the rhino sanctuary, scenic flights, and hot air balloon safaris are available.
