This small rustic camp has an idyllic river setting. This is THE camp for river crossings during the wildebeest migration from late July - early October however it is in a very busy section of the reserve so we suggest pairing it with a few nights in a private conservancy.

Rekero Camp is situated in the midst of the Mara Serengeti eco-system; home to some of the greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife in the world. Amidst the teeming masses of wildlife in the Masai Mara area, Rekero Tented Camp is inside the game reserve, very close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek rivers. The camp consists of nine spacious tents, all are en-suite with flush toilets and solar powered hot showers. Solar lanterns and kerosene lamps are provided in each tent.  The main area has several great communal viewing decks to enjoy during your time in camp.

This camp is ideally situated for the annual migration, which is the movement of over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebras from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania through the Masai Mara in Kenya.  Outside of migration season, one of the highlights of staying in the Masai Mara is viewing the predators that prowl these plains. It’s no coincidence that many wildlife documentaries, including BBC’s Big Cat Diary and Disney’s African Cats, have been filmed here. There is a high concentration of lions — including our resident Rekero pride — plus cheetahs and leopards.

Wildlife viewing can be done with their custom 4x4 drive vehicles which allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the animals. Picnics in the bush and sun-downers are also featured.
