Mashatu Game Reserve has excellent wildlife and offers great value for a safari property in Botswana! It is know for some of the best predator viewing in Botswana. Easily combined with a South African itinerary due to its southern border location. The camp is quite rustic so not for those looking for luxury.

Mashatu Tented camp, set on the private 72,000 acre Mashatu reserve is host to some of the finest predator and elephant viewing on the continent. The reserve lies in the eastern extremity of Botswana where the great Limpopo and Shashe Rivers converge. This exceptionally diverse landscape includes wide open plains, grassland, riverine forests, rocky hills, marshland and majestic sandstone ridges. Predators and elephant sightings are complimented by some lesser wellknown species such as the aardwolf, bat-eared fox, African wildcat, honey badge, spotted hyena, black backed jackal and over 350 bird species.
Eight secluded, peaceful tents are tucked under the branches of enormous trees connected by meandering pathways. Each unit is mounted on a concrete platform, and has its own private outdoor en-suite facilities, including a toilet and shower. Refresh yourself in your private outdoor shower while gazing up at the starry night sky. Guests dine together in a simple and relaxed ambiance, either in the open-air thatched gazebo, or in the boma overlooking a floodlit waterhole that's teeming with life. A plunge pool provides a refreshing break from the ever-present sunshine typical of the summer months.
Friendly and knowledgeable rangers will guide you through the wilderness, revealing the fascinating hidden secrets of the area by vehicle both in the day and night drives. Alternatively, experience the terrain by foot, bike or horse.
