This is a smaller lodge and nice alternative if Chobe Safari Lodge is full. It is slightly more expensive for a very similar experience.
The game drives are plagued by there being only 1 entrance for all vehicles to enter and depart, so the crowds are inherent. The afternoon boat cruise is worth the trip and a highlight to many Botswana safaris. We suggest this property to people with a moderate budget who can save a little here to put towards the luxury fly-in lodges in the delta.

On the doorstep of the famous Chobe National Park, and only an hour away from the mighty Victoria Falls, sits Kubu Lodge. The lodge rests on the banks of the Chobe River and features comfortable thatched chalets on stilts that overlook giant ebony and wild fig trees that reach to the river's edge. Rustic exteriors belie the comfort within; full en-suite facilities, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, tea- and coffee-making facilities and comfortable beds. The lodge offers a lounge, bar, curio shop and private swimming pool. It is secluded and tranquil with no modern distractions to encourage guests to relax and take in the beauty of their natural surroundings. Kubu is well known for its excellent cuisine and serves 3 meals a day.
There are a number of activities offered, such as game drives or boat cruises into the Chobe National Park for a variety of big game and bird life. Enjoy a quiet cruise aboard our "Finfoot" to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, the meeting place of four countries. Take a walk along the nature trail that meanders through some pristine riverine habitat on the Chobe. Armed with binoculars, enjoy the fantastic birding or perhaps catch a glimpse of the elusive Chobe Bushbuck that is prevalent on the property. There is abundant other wildlife in the area, most notably large herds of elephants.
