In recognition of its cultural and natural beauty, the Drakensberg Mountain Range has taken its rightful place on the international tourism stage with the proclamation of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park as a World Heritage Site.

Nestled in these unspoiled surroundings lies Cathedral Peak Hotel, overlooking the jagged emerald ridge of the Cathedral Spur Mountains. Surrounded by some of the worlds most breath-taking scenery, the hotel enjoys the privilege of abundant wildlife, myriad bird species, diverse plants, and ancient rock art. As the sun sets, there is no better place to be than the hotel terrace to admire the views with a sundowner cocktail or delicious cup of coffee.

Accommodation ranges from spacious inter-leading family rooms to private rondavels tucked away beneath the trees. The elegant dining room offers an extensive buffet and one can relax after dinner in one of two bars. Guests can explore the crystal clear streams and fern forests on guided walks, stopping off to enjoy a picnic alongside a waterfall. Well-preserved Bushman paintings can be seen in the nearby foothills. Sporting activities at Cathedral Peak include swimming, tennis, squash, horse and pony rides, trout fishing, bowls, croquet, mini golf, volley ball, gym and sauna. Helicopter sightseeing tours of the area are also available by arrangement.
