This luxury tented camp is part of the Serena portfolio. The central location in the Serengeti is great for viewing the annual wildebeest migration in motion from June to August and November/December. Tented rooms are classic walk in style. Because this is a property that is part of a large hotel chain, it is lacking some of the personal charm available elsewhere.

Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp lies at the epicenter of the Serengeti within easy reach of the prime wildlife theaters of Lobo, the western corridor of the Grumeti River, the southern grass plains and the Seronera Valley.

Accommodation is comprised of 16 luxurious, very spacious tents, each with 24-hour generator electricity, constant hot water, en-suite bathroom, dressing area, two double four-poster beds and a veranda with a double sun bed. The central lounge features a generous tented seating area opening onto a broad granite terrace with views over the Serengeti. There is also a cocktail bar, a stylish boutique and dining tent. In 2007, a swimming pool was added for those wanting to cool off after a long hot game drive.

Cleverly located on one of the main annual migration corridors for over one million wildebeest, half a million zebra and gazelle, and their accompanying cast of predators, Mbuzi Mawe enjoys a ringside seat for one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth - the annual migration.

Activities at Mbuzi Mawe include daily game drives where, with the aid of your guide, you will have the opportunity to experience and appreciate first hand the harshness and beauty of this area. Balloon flights can be arranged.
