This is a family run, reasonably priced little beach hotel. This is not a luxury property but does not pretend to be either. Good beach, friendly staff and close to the action of Nungwi if that is of interest.

Flame Tree Cottages is a family run beach hotel situated on the north-western coast of Zanzibar island, on the beautiful turquoise coastline of Nungwi.
A warm welcome awaits you. Ideally situated for swimming, snorkeling and diving activities. Mnemba Atoll, just a short boat trip away, is one of the best diving spots in the world. The hotel lies within a private tropical garden, which fronts the famous north-west coast beaches. Flame Tree offers comfortable accommodation in a tranquil setting. All rooms have quality furnishings, air conditioning, refrigerators, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi access and comfortable mosquito netted beds. At Flame Tree Cottages we believe in a responsibility to the community and as such, the majority of our staff are from the local village of Nungwi. Much of the furniture you will find at Flame Tree Cottages has been made by a local carpenter. Local labor was used for the construction of Flame Tree Cottages.
Activities offered include diving and snorkeling trips, sunset sails on a traditional Dhow, big game or reef fishing, and more. The island of Zanzibar offers many fascinating places to explore. Tour the spice plantations, hike the Jozani Forest and see the endemic monekys, stroll along a white sand beach or wander through the winding alleyways of Stone Town.
