The main area of the lodge is an old farmhouse converted into a homely meeting place where you experience a friendly and welcoming ambience. All areas are open plan inviting guests to wander around freely. On the well sheltered verandah you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cozy lounge is decorated with ethnic African décor and comfortable leather sofas.
The Sossusvlei area is characterized by high sand dunes of vivid pink-to-orange color, an indication of a high concentration of iron in the sand and consequent oxidation processes. While in the area you will visit the Sesriem Canyon. This canyon has been shaped over millions of years and is one of the only places in the region that holds water year round. You will also visit and climb the famed Dune 45. From the top climbers have an incredible panoramic view of Dune Valley. In the morning and evening light the floor of the pan has been described as a “moonscape” and is truly a sight to behold.
