The Silo Hotel sets a new standard for luxury Cape Town accommodation. A magical hotel towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. The hotel has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex occupying six floors above Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) which houses Africa’s largest collection of contemporary African art. The exterior of the building was designed by Heatherwick Studio. From the outside, the greatest visible change to the building’s original structure is the addition of the ingenious glass windows inserted into the geometry of the hotel floors. These multi-faceted structures glisten like diamonds during the day while at night the building transforms into a glowing beacon in the Table Bay harbor.
The Silo Hotel has 28 rooms, including a spectacular one bedroom penthouse. Each room has been individually designed and decorated by the stylish wand of Liz Biden. Colorful and eclectic pieces juxtapose the modern, industrial architecture. The rooms are more spacious vertically than horizontally due to the unique architecture of The Silo Hotel and in particular the ingenious design of the pillowed window bays which are one of the key architectural features. Silo guests received free museum entrance during their stay.
The ‘Mother City’ is a colorful and vibrant city surrounded by dramatic mountains and sandy beaches. The magic of Cape Town lies in the collision of natural wonder, diverse cultures, art, design and a thriving food and wine scene.

Set in the crisp, cool altitude of Tanzania’s scenic Southern Highlands, Kisolanza has been the home of the Ghaui family since the 1930’s. Originally planted with tobacco, it is still a fully working farm with cattle, sheep, and a range of crops. The Cape to Cairo road that weaves the length of Africa passes directly through the farmstead. This is an ideal stopover spot for travelers - a perfect pause between Zanzibar and Malawi.
The Old Farm House has grown to include a whole range of accommodation from luxurious cottages to bush camping, plus an exceptional restaurant and bar, a farm shop, and a spa. The aim remains the same as ever: to provide a haven that caters for all the creature comforts a guest could desire, such as hot showers, delicious food, a warm clean bed, and the welcoming feeling of a "home away from home".
Away from the campsite Kisolanza is a fully working farm, and you will see our herds of cattle and sheep roaming and grazing as they make their way back to their shelter for the night. The peace and tranquility of the countryside setting, the clear pure air, the natural activity of crops and animals and the opportunity to relax in a warm, friendly environment all combine to set this apart from just a stop along the road.
