Sanctuary Saadani Safari Lodge is located on the beach in the middle of the Saadani National Park; where you can experience untamed, untouched East Africa combined with the beauty of the Indian Ocean. The lodge's five Maridadi suites, nine Classic Banda suites and one Siri Suite - each open on to the sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean with verandas overlooking the beach. At last you can combine luxury safari with a relaxing beach jaunt.
The lodge offers a variety of activities ranging from traditional game drives to sand bank picnics to a Maasai Community Tour. The sandy beach is home to fishermen reeling in their daily catch and near to the Wami River.
Saadani National Park is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the sea. The climate is coastal, so nice and warm. It offers a unique combination of both marine and mainland flora and fauna in a culturally fascinating setting. All the larger mammals are present as well as numerous reptiles and birds. Many species of fish (over 40), green turtles, humpback whales and dolphins occur in the ocean nearby. Visitors can also visit the local community and interact with some of the local people.
