Lamai Serengeti stands proud above the plains, around a tumble of giant boulders. You can see from this outcrop, the Kogakuria Kopje, for miles and miles. Over a million wildebeest cross these plains on their way to dodge the jaws of death in the Mara River, just down the track. On the Lamai Wedge, bristling with mammals all year round, there’s never a dull moment. Above it all, our beautiful kopje is a sacred wildlife haven – and our mission is to act as its faithful guardians.

At Lamai Serengeti we have just 12 rooms, split between two lodges. Each lodge has its own private bar and dining area, with adjoining library and map room and each has its own natural rock swimming pool. All rooms have 24-hour power and en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flush toilets and powerful showers.

Lamai is spectacular during the green season when the Mara River runs high and the plains are full of fresh shoots of grass. This is a time of plenty. When the big herds of wildebeest and zebra are elsewhere, this prime area still enjoys spectacular wildlife viewing and you can experience it in almost total privacy, far away from the crowds. Spend your days seeing lions stalking the antelope, gazelles, topi and giraffe who reside here year round. Families of elephants meander in the forests along the rivers edge.

The uniquely built Crystal Lagoon Lodge with its unexpected architectural features offers spectacular views from an idyllic beachfront setting, only a few feet from the ocean’s edge. The 4 star Crystal Lagoon Lodge is ideally positioned next to the saltwater lagoon of Langebaan. The idyllic beachfront setting is peaceful and relaxing. Nestled along a fynbos-sheltered dune, the lodge offers truly spectacular views over the ocean. Large floor to ceiling windows windows throughout the lodge take advantage of this gorgeous setting.

A boardwalk meanders from the lodge, along the Langebaan Lagoon and down to the sandy beaches. Beach comb for the beautiful seashells or watch for marine life as they surface amid the offshore kelp forests.

The lodge's modern design contrasts perfectly against this stunning natural setting. The six guest suites have fresh, modern design that features a striking spiral staircase, modern open-plan bathrooms and private balconies with extraordinary ocean views. Comfortable beds and large windows complete them. Enjoy a complementary hot or cold breakfast while taking in the views.
