This 6 night, 7 day trip takes you around the French Indian Ocean paradise of Reunion Island. To visit the island you will collect a rental car from the airport and drive yourself to two beach towns, perfect for your trip finale.

Reunion Island was first inhabited in the 17th century when people from France, Madagascar and Africa settled there. For many years, this island served as a stopping point for the East India Trading Company. Currently Reunion Island is governed by France and has a population of 850,000 people. The geographic landscape of the island is quite diverse has calderas, active volcano, coastal lowlands, and a coral reef system off the coast.

You start your island adventure in the the town of Saint Leu. This city is best known for its surfing and paragliding as well as a botanical garden and the Kelonia public aquarium that specializes in sea turtles. You spend 3 nights at Iloha in Saint Leu, which is located on the beach and minutes away from all of the city life.

Your next stop takes you 30 minutes down to coast to the city of Saint Pierre, the capital of the south. This vibrant city has a lot to see and do such as the Saturday market, visiting the sugar fields and the oldest rum distillery on the island, or lounging on the beach. Here you spend 3 nights at Battant des Lames, located on the beach and with great views of the ocean.
