Sanctuary Saadani Safari Lodge is located on the beach in the middle of the Saadani National Park; where you can experience untamed, untouched East Africa combined with the beauty of the Indian Ocean. The lodge's five Maridadi suites, nine Classic Banda suites and one Siri Suite - each open on to the sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean with verandas overlooking the beach. At last you can combine luxury safari with a relaxing beach jaunt. Each of the five Maridadi suites, nine Classic Banda suites and one Siri Suite include relaxing verandas overlooking the beaches of the Saadani National Park. Sanctuary Saadani Safari Lodge combines local fresh produce and professional skills to create sumptuous healthy and delicious meals.
Game drives start straight from the lodge's 'front door' in comfortable 4x4 vehicles. The park is the only coastal wildlife sanctuary of its kind on the eastern coast of Africa and so the game safaris are completely unique. The big four are frequently spotted around the lodge. Additional activities include river safaris along the Wami River, walking safaris for up close and personal encounters, sand bank picnics, birding walks, snorkeling, and beach side sundowners. Cultural activities include visits to local Saadani and Maasai communities. Saadani is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the ocean. Key wildlife includes: hippos, crocodiles, lions, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, dolphins, Zanzibar galago, blue monkey, Yellow baboon, hyena, leopard and civet. Game viewing varies throughout the year and the area is known for its sightings of genets, porcupines, civets, bushbucks, bush pigs, yellow baboons and Vervet monkeys.
