Serengeti Wilderness Camp is a 'seasonal' camp located in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. Seasonal camps have the benefit of being able to move to some of the best game viewing areas of the park and every three months a new location is hand picked. The ten tents have comfy beds and eco-friendly en suite bathrooms. The tents each have a shady veranda, where guests may relax and read quietly or perhaps watch birds and animals.
A large, airy, central dining tent offers a comfortable lounge area with a small reference library and maps, and a recharging facility for cameras and videos. At the safari campfire in the evenings enjoy sundowners and snacks, and relive the day's experiences.
The famous migration is a dynamic process of herd animals following the rains and the grasses in a clockwise direction, crossing from the Maasai Mara into the Serengeti. The Southern Plains of the Serengeti are home to huge wildebeest and zebra herds during the months of December-April. Amazingly, about 80 percent of the females give birth within the same 4 to 5 week period, creating a glut for predators and thus enabling more calves to survive the crucial first few weeks.
