We love the guided walking safaris offered at Kapani Lodge. Guests get into the environment, rather that observing from a vehicle. The camp is located in South Luangwa National Park, still one of Africa's best game viewing areas. Run by safari legend, Norman Carr's company, this lodge is sure to be a highlight to any safari. Best in combination with one or more bush camps located farther into the interior of the park.

Kapani Lodge is an exclusive, private camp situated on the banks of one of the many ox-bow lagoons in South Luangwa NP.

Each of the eight standard suites has its own lounge with bar fridge and the beds have overhead fans inside their walk-in mosquito nets. The two Lagoon Houses are even more spacious with private views and elegant furniture.

The lodge is on main electricity and offers most modern facilities. A thatched building in the center of the camp houses the lounge and library. The bar and dining area is set on a deck overlooking the Kapani Lagoon. According to the season, dining is al fresco with dinner taken on the terrace, on the spacious deck, by the swimming pool or in the lounge. Private dinners can also be arranged for guests seeking a little more seclusion.

Activities include game drives which generally take place just after sunrise and around sunset. You will follow the loop roads in the park, stopping to view wildlife and for the guides to offer you their observations. Walking safaris allow guest to get out on foot was to become instantly a part of your surroundings. Zambia's Luangwa Valley is regarded as the home of walking safaris.
