Situated on the Cape’s oldest registered farm, Steenberg offers an idyllic setting; a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town in the Western Cape, South Africa. Steenberg rests in the Constantiaberg amphitheater of the Table Mountain range. The original farm werf resonates with the history of the Cape as it was the very first farm granted by Simon van der Stel, to the feisty Catharina Ras, in 1682.
The selection of luxurious accommodation includes striking heritage suites, contemporary premier rooms, family rooms and the charm of sunny barn rooms as well as those in the original Manor House. Steenberg Hotel relives the glory days of the farm as the preferred stop-over for travellers to the Cape with the hallmark of warm hospitality and attentive service. Each room room is tastefully furnished, some with exquisite antiques and all overlooking the vineyards or manicured gardens.
The estate boasts a state of the art modern winery, producing some of the country's finest award winning wines. There are several world class diving venues form which to indulge. A championship 18-hole golf course designed by Peter Matkovich surrounds the hotel. Guests are given special rates and can enjoy a round of golf on a course that was designed to make full use of the natural features and hazards.
