Mango Favorite

This is one of our most commonly booked properties in Cape Town. While is has changed hands a couple of times over the years, Welgelegen is a great mix of style, value and friendly Cape hospitality. The location, on a quiet street for easy parking, is only a few blocks from the bustling restaurants, shops and bars of the City Bowl neighborhood.

Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, with unparalleled views of Lion’s Head, Welgelegen Boutique Hotel oozes Cape charm. The luxurious space was converted into fourteen en-suite rooms from two Victorian houses, linked by a shady inner courtyard and a plunge pool that provides welcome respite during the heat of the day. It is truly a sanctuary in the city, located just a short walk away from the vibe of Kloof Street, and a few minutes’ drive from the Table Mountain Cableway, Camps Bay and the V & A Waterfront.

You can begin your day here with breakfast in warm morning sun and end your evening sipping glasses of Cape Sauvignon under the stars and white fairy lights flickering among the surrounding foliage. The en-suite luxury bedrooms are all equipped with air conditioning, beautifully furnished interiors and fine cotton bedding.

Welgelegen is within walking distance are many of Cape Town’s finest restaurants and pubs, the Company Gardens, National Museum and Art Gallery, and Greenmarket Square in the city center.  Just 5-10 minutes by car, you can enjoy Table Mountain, Clifton Beaches, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the Botanical Gardens. Tours of the Cape Peninsula, Robben Island, whale watching, helicopter charters and deep sea fishing are a few of the interesting options available. We will give you a list of Mango favorite restaurants nearby.
