The en-suite tents are designed with a private shaded veranda, flush toilets and a safari style bucket shower. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Wabe Shebelle Hotel is basic hotel located minutes outside Goba, the capital of the Bale region. The hotel is surrounded by spacious gardens and has a restaurant that fits the needs of travelers. Goba is known for its Wednesday market and for honey, basketry and cotton shawl making. A few kilometers outside of Goba are the remains of an old rock church.

Goba is surrounded by Bale Mountains National Park which is divided into five distinct and unique habitats: the Northern Grasslands (Gaysay Valley), Northern Woodlands (Park Headquarters), Afro-alpine Meadows (Sanetti Pleateau), Erica Moorlands, and the Harenna Forest. The park is known for being home to the largest populations of both the endemic and endangered Ethiopian wolf and mountain nyala , as well as the endemic Bale monkey and giant mole rat. .

The people of the region are dominantly Oromo-speaking farmers and cattle herders. The mountains are the true ancestral home of the Oromo, the largest single ethnic group in the Horn of Africa. Living as pastoralists and farmers, the population grew quite quickly and expanded to different corners of the country beginning in the 16th century.
