Landmark Hotel is situated in the small town of Tukuyu Mbeya. This hotel is a clean and safe hotel with a lot of character, which provides guests with a great place to stay while visiting the villages. The restaurant serves local cuisine and works with the program to provide meals featuring fresh, local ingredients.

Tukuyu is a small, of 50,000 inhabitants, hillside town that lies about 36 miles south of the city of Mbeya in the highland Rungwe District of southern Tanzania. The surrounding Southern Highlands of Tanzania make for excellent hiking and walking. The forests are ecologically lush, have clear freshwater rivers and streams, are outside of the mosquito zone, have friendly villagers, have very few dangerous animals, and the elevated highland climate is cool. The trek to Ngozi Peak, below which is a spectacular volcanic crater lake, is popular. Lake Ngozi has a local water-serpent legend, and it is possible to bush camp here overnight.

Tea is widely cultivated around Tukuyu. Tea is one of the perennial crops that many small scale farmers depend on. There is a tea processing factory at Katumba, 5 km from Tukuyu, as one travels to Mbeya. Coffee is also grown extensively around Tukuyu.
