Named after the river it borders, Gomoti Plains camp lies alongside one of the smaller of the water system’s flood plains on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Framed by towering palm trees, the iconic canvas tents provide eco-luxurious comfort in an area that is alive with superb land and water-based game-viewing opportunities.

Gomoti Plains has 10 luxury tents which include 2 luxury family tents and 8 luxury double tents, all with en-suite bathroom facilities. The Gomoti Plains tents and main area are slightly raised on wooden decks overlooking the Gomoti river system. The area is known for its large concentrations of wildlife which thrive on the Gomoti plains and waterways. This exclusive area has been a well-kept secret for many years.

The Gomoti region has been the local haunt of many of the older guides and Okavango dwellers who refer to it in nostalgic terms when they used to camp along this river system. This wild and pristine area has over the years produced some phenomenal wildlife encounters including the filming and studying of the African wild dog packs which inhabit this area. Activities offered include both game drives on land and seasonal water-based activities.

Babylonstoren is a Cape Dutch farm with vineyards and orchards surrounded by the dramatic mountains of the Drakenstein Valley. It has an exceptionally well–preserved werf dating from 1690. A fruit and vegetable garden of botanical diversity supplies a remarkable restaurant, Babel. Guests staying at Babylonstoren enjoy access to the entire farm, plus facilities like the spa and gym.

The guest suites echo Cape Dutch farm buildings. The style developed in the Cape Colony of the 17th and 18th century: outer walls are whitewashed and decorated with ornate gables and thatched roofs. Interiors are pleasantly cool in summer (due to thick walls) and are heated by open hearths in winter. One of the biggest treats when staying over at Babylonstoren, is that you get to begin the day with an abundant harvest table breakfast served in our greenhouse. The breakfast menu is devised according to what's ready for picking in the garden. On our breakfast menu: the freshest of just-blended juices, seasonal fruit, homemade muesli with a twist, freshly baked bread from our bakery, thick yoghurts and farm honey. Our farm breakfast includes a choice of something delicious and hot, maybe Babylonstoren eggs and plum-wood smoked bacon, made on the farm.

There are lots of fun activities to help you enjoy your stay including wine and olive oil tasting, rowing and fishing at the dam, garden tour, indulgences at the sap, biking tours and much more.
