With only eight luxury thatched chalets comprising the lodge, there is a tranquil ambiance to Thula Thula Safari Lodge. The eight chalets range from peaceful and romantic, to luxurious and spacious, with something for every guest's ideal stay. The decor is a striking blend of ethnic and colonial elegance that embodies the spirit of Africa perfectly. Other facilities available at Thula Thula include a tastefully decorated central living area, a dining Boma, a wildlife viewing deck with comfortable chairs, a swimming pool, the Marula Bar, a conference center, and a private lounge area with a bar and library for the ultimate relaxation.

Activities that are offered at the lodge are open vehicle game drives and bush walks. Also available to guests are a Sangoma encounter in the rural Zulu village, an excursion to Hluluwe or Umfolozi Game Reserve, whale watching (June to October), a St Lucia boat cruise, therapeutic massages, and a picnic champagne lunch in the bush. Not only is there a delectable restaurant for guests to enjoy, the celebrated head chef has recently started offering culinary classes.

Thula Thula Game Reserve is a 4500ha home to a wide array of wildlife. Among these creatures, guests can spot elephants, buffalo, rhinos, leopard, giraffes, zebra, nyalas, hyenas, crocodiles, kudu, wildebeest, and many others including over 350 bird species. The landscape is equally varied, with everything from riverine bush, to savannah and forest. Experienced rangers are on hand to guide you through this fantastic area.
