Bishangari Lodge is an eco-site, a natural wilderness, a wildlife sanctuary, a secluded beach resort and a luxury lodge on the Eastern shores of Lake Langano. The "Godjos" and "the Village" have been designed to offer the visitor a combination of natural wilderness coupled with a bit of luxury. Accommodation in Bishangari consists of mainly two types: Godjos (locally crafted bungalows) and the Village (Ethiopian village), which is specially built for people who would want to experience the traditional Ethiopian village. Wherever possible all the buildings have been constructed using natural materials and traditional techniques, without compromising the quality of the facilities. Dining experiences happen in the spectacular two-story tree bar built in and around an ancient broad spreading tree, nearly 400 years old. It is the perfect venue at the end of the day for enjoying a relaxing drink after your meal.
Bishangari offers a whole range of activities from walking, mountain baking through fishing and hippo spotting. Take a walk through the indigenous forest up to the waterfall, or relax with a massage by the beach. Home to the coffee bean, no journey to Ethiopia would be complete without experiencing the rich flavors and unique characteristics of Ethiopian coffee in the daily coffee ceremonies. The area is home to baboons, other monkeys, dik-diks, warthogs, rare civic cats, and an impressive array of birds.
