River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Bushman’s river and offers 10 spacious, air conditioned and tastefully appointed thatched suites. The lodge, which overhangs the river, offers exclusivity, comfort and spectacular views and includes a stunning outdoor pool. Inside the lodge guests can find a quiet spot in one of the lounges, page through a book in the library, relax at the pool or take in the magnificent views from the deck overhanging the river. Special activities include daily boat trips to the Kenton beaches and excellent river fishing.

Kariega Game Reserve is an internationally renowned malaria free “Big 5” private game reserve situated near Port Elizabeth, thus forming a natural extension to Cape Town and the Garden Route. Family owned and managed, it would be accurate to say that the gradual growth and development of the now expansive 10,000 hectare reserve is one of the most accomplished conservation projects in the Eastern Cape to date.

Kariega’s landscape spans across 5 different eco systems, resulting in extremely high game carrying capacities which results in Kariega’s game viewing and birding experience being exceptional. Having 2 major rivers incorporated into the reserve (the Kariega and Bushmans rivers) adds enormous beauty and value. Tassia lodge captures all elements of the Kenyan bush and is an ideal escape for those searching for a taste of unspoiled Africa. Set in a stunning wilderness area, situated on the 60,000 acre Lekurruki Community Ranch; it gives a spectacular and breathtaking view of the Northern Frontier District towards Samburu and its neighbors, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Borana Ranch.

Perched dramatically on the edge of a rocky bluff, which protrudes from the Mokogodo escarpment and overlooks a valley filled with Acacia and Newtonia trees. Staying at Tassia means removing yourself from the world as you know it (no tv, no internet, no cell reception) – whether walking through the bush or scrambling up to the caves where the Maasai used to live, you will not meet another car or tourist.

All rooms are en suite with their own shower and loo with extraordinary views out to the surrounding bush. It isn’t every day you can watch elephants while enjoying a refreshing shower! The rooms can also be adapted for families, couples and single travelers. The side of the room facing the view is completely open, giving an unobstructed view of the wilderness and wildlife below.
