As the original and flagship camp, Nyikani has learned from its surroundings and discovered a way to exist harmoniously within it. The camp moves seasonally to keep near the Great Wildebeest Migration and therefore remains surrounded by life. Guests have the opportunity to safely enjoy watching their mammalian neighbors graze the grounds and trees wrapped around the tent's boundaries.

With just ten tents, Nyikani offers an authentic and intimate bush experience in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness. Room fabrics are handwoven African designs, and the camp’s furniture and decor were designed and built by artisans in Arusha, Tanzania.

Between August and November the camp follows the migration which reaches its northern range of the Serengeti. Within the northern Serengeti lies the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River, which the herds must cross not once, but twice, as they complete their migration. The herds remain in this area until mid-December before they can usually be found heading south again. As well as the herds that make up the migration, there are also lots of cats, as well elephants, buffalo, impala, giraffe and many other species of plains game. Game drives and walks in the company of the Masai are at your leisure.

Lemosho is a beautiful route with gentle ascents approaching the Mt Kilimanjaro's summit from the west. The route takes you from the west across the Shira Plateau, with an ascent to the base of the majestic Lava Tower. From Lava Tower this approach via Barafu to the east offers a longer and less steep climb than straight up via the Western Breach, and it allows climbers to summit twice, if they wish. After the overnight camped in the soft sand of the crater, you have a sunrise climb to Uhuru Peak before descending toward the southeast and incredible views of Mawenzi, Kilimanjaro’s remnant volcanic cone.

You will start at 6000 feet in elevation, slowly ascending to Uhuru Peak at 19,340 feet in elevation. All treks will be at an easy pace, with plenty of support from the expert private staff that are familiar with the terrain and challenging conditions associated with hiking at elevation. This route includes all accommodation, all meals, filtered water, special French press coffee and tea while trekking, services of trip leader, climbing guides and mountain crew, all Kilimanjaro National Park entrance and camping fees, all camping equipment (excluding sleeping bag & sleeping pad - available to rent), private biodegradable toilet at all camps, Gamow bag (portable hyperbaric chamber) and supplemental oxygen, transfers to & from your accommodation in Arusha. Additional service like a shower tent for hot showers on the Mountain and additional porters are available at an extra cost.
