The word Gala-Gala means Gecko in the local dialect. The bush surroundings we enjoy are teaming with many Geckos so this was the inspiration for our name. The biodiversity of the area in and around the resort is extensive with an impressive variety of birds, butterflies and other indigenous & interesting wildlife.

Gala-Gala Eco Resort offers both the tranquil space for those who want to be away from the busy village, and a large number of activities for those looking for an active and exciting holiday. The resort offers different choices of accommodation from deluxe private ensuite cabanas, standard reed cabana perfect for families and groups to private camp sites with their own bathrooms.

The barefoot luxury & personal attention and service creates a space ideal for disconnecting from the rat race and relaxing. With many alluring features, it boasts a quiet sandy beach a short walk from the resort, Blowing Bubbles Diving dive centre on site, nature trails, amazing birds & Butterflies and pristine amenities.

Visit the small barracas and indulge your taste buds at some of the local restaurants. The town has a bottle store, fish shop and bakery so most things are available in the town, bottled water and ice are also available.
